1 Tablespoon Oil of Choice
Apples & Sauce: 2 tbsp salted butter, 2 large sharp-tasting apples peeled, chopped into small cubes, and mixed with 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 ½ cup water, ½ cup coconut sugar (or brown sugar), ⅓ cup maple syrup.

How to do it
MAKE the apples and sauce: Place the water, maple syrup, coconut sugar, butter and sliced apple into a large saucepan. Heat, without stirring, on a medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the liquid comes to the boil. Turn down the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, then turn the heat off. Set aside.
PLACE the Vava Vanilla Dilettoso mix, cinnamon, ginger, shredded apple, egg, and milk in a large bowl. Use a whisk to mix until combined. Don’t over-mix – a few lumps are fine. Let the batter sit for 5 minutes.
GREASE with oil a waffle maker and heat until hot. Pour approx. ¼ cup of mix per waffles, and cook following iron instructions. We suggest to cook for one extra minute.
REPEAT with the rest of the mixture – oiling the waffle iron each time – until all the waffles are cooked.
STACK waffles on a plate and top the stack with wedges of the cooked apple, then spoon on a heaped tbsp. of Greek yogurt.
POUR over the apple-syrup sauce before serving. Enjoy!

Did you know?
Apples turn brown when cut because of an enzyme in their flesh that reacts with oxygen, called oxidization. How to prevent apples from browning? Soak apple slices in water with added honey or lemon. You can also squeeze lemon juice directly onto the apple slices.
